People say that the Silk Road started from this island; Korčula has good reason to be proud to be home to Marco Polo’s house, a stone’s throw from Lešić Dmitri Palace. The building’s history dates back to the 17th century, when the Lešić family, rich property owners and merchants combined a number of semi-detached houses to create a palace worthy of that name. It has been meticulously renovated yet with a touch of contemporary design; its historical character and original layout have been retained and it now offers a small number of independent suites. Each evokes a step in Marco Polo’s journey towards China, in a harmonious décor, with top-quality materials.

Residences
The faithful restoration of the Palace has retained many of the original features and combined them with bespoke furniture, excellent design and modern technology.
Commitment to keeping the original features and layout of the palace in tact, inspired the creation of individual residences on every floor of the building, instead of classical hotel rooms. Thus we have five beautiful residences ranging in size from one to three bedrooms, offering luxury boutique style accomodation. They are fully serviced but allow independence with fitted kitchens and dining facilities, either for self-catering or private dining using experienced chefs. The sixth residence, Korčula, has been converted into a spa treatment area.

Dining
The restaurant at Lešić Dimitri Palace offers al fresco fine dining. Restaurant terrace stretches along the Old Town medieval wall, with panoramic views across the Pelješac channel and the Korčula archipelago. Their ingredient-focused menu is inspired by what is available seasonally on land and at sea. Head Chef and Head Sommelier are united in their desire to create a unique but local dining experience for guests; together, they have developed a gastronomic identity that is rooted in the rich Dalmatian cuisine.
